Presentation

Since 1961, everything at Sinn has revolved around high-quality mechanical watches. Buyers of SINN watches swear by the performance, robustness and durability, quality and precision of the watches. Functionality has the highest priority. The watches boast technological features that make sense and have no fashion background. Owner Dipl.-Ing. Lothar Schmidt paraphrases it like this: “Products have to speak for themselves.”

Sinn. Time. Talk. | 30 years of Sinn Spezialuhren under the management of Lothar Schmidt.

30 years of entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with a passion for innovation and enthusiasm. In 1983, graduate engineer Lothar Schmidt, one of IWC’s development managers at the time, learnt that Helmut Sinn was looking for a successor to his company for reasons of age. As he had wanted to run his own company for some time, the decision was quickly made to make contact. The final takeover on 1 September 1994 was tantamount to the company being re-established. In an interview with Dipl.-Ing. Lothar Schmidt, Rüdiger Bucher, Editor-in-Chief of the specialist watch magazine Chronos, looks back on 30 years full of entrepreneurial spirit, during which Lothar Schmidt successfully managed and developed the company.
